This past year, we asked more than 430 HR professionals globally which recruiting channels delivered the highest quality candidates and the results were fascinating!
Of the companies who participated in the 2016 McQuaig Global Talent Recruitment Survey, most used online job boards, employee referrals, social networking sites, and their corporate website as recruitment channels.
Although those recruiting channels were the most popular, they were not necessarily the most effective. The results show that employee referrals delivered higher quality candidates than online job boards and agencies beat out both social networking and corporate sites.
When we refer to the top, we mean the most effective. Therefore, according to our respondents, the top 3 recruitment channels in 2016 were:
1) Employee Referrals
2) Online Job Boards
